CDIB Capital Successfully Exits Smith-Cooper International
Hong Kong, December 12, 2017CDIB Capital International Corporation (“CDIB Capital”), the private equity arm of China Development Financial ("CDF"), is pleased to announce the successful sale of its interest in Smith-Cooper International (“Smith-Cooper”) to Tailwind Capital returning approximately three times invested capital.
Smith-Cooper is a value-added designer, producer and distributor of branded valves, fittings and pipe under the SCI®, Sharpe® and FPPI® brands. The company provides over 15,000 MRO SKUs to more than 2,000 customers across diverse end markets. Smith-Cooper was recapitalized in October 2012 by CDIB Capital alongside Blue Point Capital Partners. During CDIB Capital’s ownership period, Smith-Cooper acquired and integrated its first add-on acquisition with Fire Protection Products, Inc. Victor Gao, Managing Director and head of CDIB Capital’s Shanghai office, sat on Smith-Cooper’s Board of Directors.
